LOL! Yah... that became pretty clear this weekend. I felt like a guppy in a shark tank!

I was really ashamed of myself during one specific fight. I just popped my wings, went FAR up and hid away on top of that big, purple sword, shielding my ears from the screams of the Elyos being slaughtered below... it was terrifying!

Yes... I'm ashamed, dammit! But at least I was alive! Razz

I solo in the Abyss all the time; hide is your friend. Razz

But indeed, I have been ganked countless times as well. Some advice from my side... the following should be carried on you ALL the time in the abyss. All are pretty cheap on the exchange, you can get 50 of each for about 50-60k I think. (ignore the 'Asmo Only', it is for both and any levels can use them.)

Greater Healing Potion - Get rid of those cursed priest roots. dots and Ranger slows!

Greater Life Serum - speaks for itself.

Wind Serum - Or better Razz

As well as Elemental stones, and maybe some food for your class. Thats optional though... but Item Name is only 2000 a piece! Very Happy

Saved myself lots of times with the above!

Yea... duo is the way to go.

Some excellent advice there Phenie. I've died a couple of times cause I didn't have healing pots...

The weekend was a mixed bag... I was lucky on Friday night / Saturday morning. Ran around killing stuff in the upper Abyss for 5-6 hours without even seeing an Asmo. But then it all changed and I got mega-ganked every few hours throughout the rest of Sat + Sun.

SM's with fear... how I hate them now.
Then sorcerers with thermo-nuclear explosions on my head while I'm sleeping...
Rangers... these are tough. I usually get away though.
I killed a few sins and gladiators that tried their luck...
Templars usually give up at some point and we go our separate ways.
I had an encounter with a chanter... he probably still doesn't know what hit him (Kali knows my secret now, though).

All good fun though.
Ran around with Rika (ranger) / Witblits (sorc) killing everything yesterday. I like this cleric + dps combo. Smile

Last night was a blast. Spent the entire evening questing in the Abyss.

Died more than a few times in total, but the time teamed up with Evangelica was a lot safer. Smile When grouped, most of the solo and 2-member Asmo groups run or fly past. When you're solo they usually wait for you to attack a mob before sneaking up and opening fire. Especially the rangers and assassins.

We also did our fair share of killing Asmos, of course.

Some funny moments too, like the mid-air handbrake turn when we followed a running Asmo only to run into one of their guard towers.

Good fun.

It's becoming really clear that you have to have a group when you're in the Abyss. Running around there on your own is deadly. So we must definitely make a plan to get some of those quests done there. I'm keen to team up and get some stuff done while kicking some Asmo nyerknyerknerk!

We have a lot of people in the 25 - 30 range at the moment, so we should be able to group up and hit the Abyss.
