Greetings, Daevas!



We’ve heard your feedback that the experience curve can be steep in certain levels of Aion, and over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been evaluating how we want to address this issue to provide for smoother character progression. While we’re committed to providing a permanent solution, our long-term plans require development time. As part of that process, we are implementing a temporary enhancement so that you can feel immediate benefits that we’re excited to be rolling out this weekend.



To aid you in your travels we will be implementing double experience weekends over the next three weeks. These bonus weekends will affect characters levels 1–35. This includes crafting and gathering experience as well. After the upcoming three weekends, we plan on hosting bonus experience weekends once or twice a month. We want to make it easier for you to experience what Aion has to offer for your characters after level 35.



We are also adding a few permanent benefits with this week’s patch. Soul Healing will be less expensive for characters of all levels, and we’re increasing the experience bonus that Energy of Repose bestows for levels 20–44.



While the above is an interim solution, we will be addressing the character progression experience curve with a sizeable patch next year. We look forward to hearing your comments, and we hope you have fun during these bonus weekends. Make sure to tell your friends —the more the merrier!

Hmmmm..... good time to start another alt

I think NCSoft is trying to push players to higher levels so that there will be less QQ'ing about ganks.

Heh, I only have 2 Chars atm.. But I have a few others I would like to check out and test.


Think my next char will be a Sorc as soon as they implement the Double XP Patch.. I hope they do this really soon..

Dbl XP is nice, esp for crafting and gathering.

There is just one thing I do not get.
I hear alot of People QQ about, there are not enough quests.
But I disagree. Just about everyone I know, has a full or amost full quest log, (Level Ranges 30 - 40).
I myself at lvl 40, am struggling to get rid of all my quests, they just keep comming.

I do not know if these people just dont know where the quests are, or maybe they just a bit on the confused side.

Alot of people it seems also do not get the fact that at
LVL 25-29 u farm TC
LVL 30-35 u farm FT
LVL 35-40 u farm LC and KHQ, + ALAB
LVL 41 + u start farming SR

I take how myself and the rest of the gang do it, we all sit on vent talking nyerknyerknerknyerk, farming KHQ for example and time flies and its uber fun, esp when I fear mobs into the lava and all the melee follow the mob. I wish I had fraps on when that happened.

My point is I do not see why people are complaining about XP.
In my honest opinion from about the levels seem to come faster and faster. When I look again, O another level.

IMO people should stop looking at their XP bar (They should actually hide it) and enjoy the beautifull game that is Aion.

I swear some people are just born to nyerknyerknerknyerknyerknerknyerk QQ.

Anyway, there are a lot of quests, yes, and it should keep you pretty busy between levels. I don't even do all the quests lately. I'll run up, give it a quick read and then check the reward. If its like "go see this guy, then that guy, then that guy and we give you 9 brazillion XP", I'll take it and probably quickly do it too.
If however you have to kill 100 mobs of a certain type for 10 Kinah and a cookie then I'll just ./facepalm, laugh a little, skip it and go farm Balaur and do repeatables in the Abyss.

I did "grind" the last 35% to lvl 40 the other day but that was because I chose to do it that way. Doing quests will never level you as fast as farming mobs.

So I really don't think there is too much wrong with the game and the number of quests...
Nothing yet, anyway. We will see closer to 50 if this changes.

Oh, and I think a daeva set is now actually within reach of all of us! It is easy enough to get a character from creation to lvl 20 within a weekend. So getting it to 30 with just a little more effort should be possible if double XP is implemented. You quickly get to know the where's, what's, how's of leveling a toon the quickest way and every following character will go faster..

Realistically I think it might be tough to get to 30 in a weekend alone, unless you are really lucky with back-to-back Training Camp runs between 25 and 29. But you should get close.

Also, it will be much easier for people who already have a high level toon with some Kinah in the bank to do this. I'd be willing to spend up to 2 mil per char to get to 30 fast. That means all skills, travel fees, decent armor (with the best manastones) and (enchanted) weapons up to level 23. Plus ofc all HP and Manapots as needed.

I'm actually really glad I waited before the altitus bug bit me!

Old fashioned low XP grinding, hehehe.

Hmm i have mixed feelings on this double xp thing. The game isn't supposed to be a race to maximum levels and uber gear. I am only lvl 17 now, haven't been playing that much, but I am in no rush to get to 50. It is more fun for me to see all the areas fully,see all the quests and content, and learn where the rare mobs spawn for example, than to powerlevel. It also gives you more of a chance to learn to play your character properly. Had too many encounters in WoW after they made leveling super fast, where a player would do his first grouped instance at lvl 70+ to 80, and had no idea how to cc, kite, tank multiple mobs, heal proactively instead of reactively, etc. People who did it the slow, old fashioned way always had a better grip on the situation. That and they played for the group and weren't just in it to get the uber loots. An mmo shouldn't be just about "me me me gief epics"!

But....I would like to see this change for people who have reached high levels, say 40 or 45, where the person already has a feel for the world and wants to level alts.
I know I don't suddenly want to start leveling like a biatch and throw out half my quests because they are too low level. But yes I can't see myself enjoying the grind from lvl1 to 50 again at the same pace.
Oh and as far as double xp for crafts...well now that I can agree to 100% hehe

My grind for phancy armor and stuff i did back in GW for the Obs armor. TWICE! once for my warrior the other time for my assassin...
and then again in CoH/V for a purple enhancement set for my main tanker.
