Joining Aion

Post by Syl on Fri Feb 26, 2010 8:56 am

Hey guys,

Ordered my Aion DVD yesterday, waiting for it to arrive. (Quick question, the standard edition does include 30days playtime, same as other MMO's, right?)

Any advice you guys can give regarding server/faction where most South Africans hang out?

Looking forward to it.

Syl.

hi and welcome!

Yes, the game does include the first month's playtime but (and this is stupid) you can only activate the account if you provide your credit card details (in effect - pre-ordering the next month's subscription fee). You can cancel the transaction afterward for whatever reason if you like though so no worries.

Most SA Peeps are on the Spatalos European server. The main legion is called "Watchers" but we have a secondary legion up for alts as well called "Watchers II"

Things are quiet in Watchers at the moment, with lots of people leveling alt characters etc, but it should pick up again soon.

My IGN is Evangelica but if you cant get hold of me give Cayli or Sinnerfury a wisp for an invite.

Thanks for the info Smile

I'm guessing most of you are Elyos?

This is going to take some getting used to. Been playing a lot of WoW for the past 4 years (and a bit of LotRO).

Yes, Elyos we are.
You'll get the hang of things easily enough. Its really not a difficult game at all. Most of the info etc that you need can be found on the net by now (it was sometimes difficult for those of us who started playing in the betas...) and then you can always ask the legion for help as well.

Hope to see you in game soon.

How's the gfx engine behaving by the way? Do you need a Blue Mountain PC to run it on max, or is it the same gfx requirements as Far Cry 1 (with it being the CryEngine and all that).

Got it today. It's performing very decently.
Did the ascension earlier tonight, level 10 now. Decided to go with a Templar (well, for now), since I'm most used to that playing style.

Must say, I'm impressed with the game so far - just the movement system feels a bit "clunky", but could get used to that Smile

See you guys online.
