Hi there from Oudtshoorn

Post by Jacuu on Tue Feb 23, 2010 8:19 pm

Hi, my name is Jaco, I'm from Oudtshoorn, South Africa.

I started playing this game yesterday, though latency screwed me over and I got some external help with that Smile (Thanks LithiumPicnic!)

I'm playing on Spatalos as Scout, soon to be Ranger rabbit

I am Elyos, my character name is Luminarc.

Hope to see you guys on there soon Smile

Cheers

Hey Jaco!!

Welcome to our friendly community.

I look forward to seeing you on the server and am happy you got your latency sorted, because this game is freakin awesome (and I say that after months of casual playing)

Cayli (our official cheerleader) will surely also welcome you in her customary style with pom-poms in hand Very Happy

lol, thanks I'll do that

Can any of you help me with something?

Yesterday I got home, wanting to play the game, but each time I pressed log in I get "cannot connect to the authorization server"

I downloaded a proxifier along with using gamepath and such and it worked right after!

Today when I wanted to play again I got same message when I got home "cannot connect to authorization forum"

What's wrong and how can I fix this? Anyone else getting this error or is the server just full at the moment or what?

Not sure if this is your problem but, maybe its similar to what happened to me a while back. The game will give you that message if you have proxifier running (even in the background) without gamepath. If you want to play without gamepath then make sure that proxifier is not running at all.

Might be worth a look... let us know if you still have issues.

I've tried joining with proxifier on and off (even exited in my toolbar tray or whatnot)

I use Proxifier and Putty because latency is a lot... Two days ago I got this same message, then I got the proxifier and it worked until I got back from school when I noticed it's still giving me the same message... with or withough proxifier.

I have no clue why this is happening, because this morning (9 hours ago) I played the game with little to no latency, went to school, came back... not working...

EDIT:

Just tried again! It worked... BUT

After getting the "accept" button when regulations come up, I click it and get this message soon after: "You have limited access with the server and the connection is being closed"

Any idea how to fix this or will it be fixed by itself soon? When I log in without proxifier and putty it doesn't say this, but then latency makes the game unplayable with response time when trying to talk to npc characters for up to 1 minute... Proxifier makes this only a second to two seconds...

Something wrong with the proxy then?

wait... I got that same message after the last patch. It seems the patch didnt like any 3rd party proxy applications so blocked us at the server. It was fixed the next day though... Are your patches up to date? Also, can you not get into the game at all without gamepath and proxifier on?

I deactivated EVERYTHING just now, lol (the proxifier and the putty)

Can log in, play the game and everything, but response time is worse than ever before... lol - takes about a minute to two minutes just to talk to an NPC

I deleted proxifier and downloaded it again, waiting to see what happens.

I updated patches two days ago according to the ncsoft launcher.

Update:
Just got home and tried to log in... SAME PROBLEM! Sad Sad Sad

Can get into the game without proxifier and gamepath fine, ping is horrible though. Maybe they changed something on the servers again... who knows. This is BS.

Anyway, just read on the gamepath forums that setting the proxifier port range to 8888 might help... trying now... will let you know.

Edit:
It does work, you can get into the game ok and all chat channels etc seems to work fine... except its like not having a proxy service at all running. My ping is 900 odd, same as not running proxifier & gamepath at all. So that is not the solution we are looking for.

Thanks Smile

I hope it works. I've been trying everything for the last 4 hours... lol but nothing has helped thus far.

I just hope another update doesn't come too soon. Otherwise it's another 16 hour download spree for me.

EDIT

When I change the range to 8888 my ping is 3200 .... Shocked

Hi, ok I'm pretty sure I've found a solution Smile

Set your proxifier port range to "ALL" (from the "options" -> "Proxification Rules" menu).

I'm in the game now, pings at 350 odd (normal)

Hope this works for you too Smile

Thanks I'll try it, hope it works

EDIT:

Now I'm getting "can't access the server with this IP"

EDIT AGAIN:

I got it to work! Problem solved! cheers

Just re-entered all my IP informations and stuff

But because of my slow internet, my Ping has been lowered from 3200 to 900, lol. It's alright for me though, not that much lag. At most 1 second Smile
